Meet Cassandra Faurote

CCP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Cassandra is a respected compensation expert and employee rewards consultant who designs effective and competitive compensation and total reward programs for corporate clients. She is the founder, owner, and CEO of Compensation Sense, which provides turnkey compensation consulting modules. She is also the founder, owner, and CEO of Total Reward Solutions, a private firm which has provided consulting services to organizations in more than 50 industries since 2005. 

Faurote has more than 30 years of experience in Human Resources and compensation, both as an internal and external consultant. She is also the author of the SHRM-approved book Compensation Sense 101: Common Sense Answers to Your Questions about Employee Compensation and Total Rewards. 

Faurote earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management; and holds the designations of CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), and SHRM-SCP (SHRM Senior Certified Professional). She has authored articles in World at Work publications, Inside Indiana PerspectivesLouisville Business JournalHR Professionals Magazine, and Kentucky SHRM. She is also a sought-after conference speaker and presenter on compensation and total reward topics.

Faurote serves as Past Chair for the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce. She is also an alumnus of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses entrepreneurship training program, an elite invitation-only group of small business owners.

Cassandra began her career as an HR Generalist in small to medium size businesses, and led the HR function at some of these organizations, including in the financial and banking industries. After a dozen years of generalist work, she decided to specialize in compensation. 

Building on her knowledge of compensation and benefits in small to medium size companies, she secured a position as an internal compensation consultant for a large medical devices employer. Next, she was recruited to be Head of Compensation and Benefits at a large insurance company.

An Entrepreneur Helping Entrepreneurs

In 2005, Cassandra answered the call to become a compensation entrepreneur, forming her own compensation consulting firm, Total Reward Solutions. She made it her mission to serve the small and medium size businesses that could not afford the expensive big-house consulting firms. Cassandra believed that every company deserved access to affordable compensation consulting so they could provide the fair and market-competitive compensation necessary to attract, retain, and motivate their employees.

Now Cassandra is following another entrepreneurial leadership instinct with Compensation Sense. With Compensation Sense, she is making it possible for others to start a compensation consulting practice or grow their existing Human Resources (HR) consulting business. Her mission with Compensation Sense is to help existing HR consulting firms provide top-quality compensation services to their clients AND to help others become independent compensation consultants or compensation consulting coaches so they can build the life they want.
